The Witcher 3: GameScrubber — Profanity, Nudity & Gore Filter
An optional, reversible filter for The Witcher 3 that censors profanity, clothes nude characters, and replaces explicit visuals while leaving quests and performances intact.
- Censors 2,438 on-screen and subtitle entries with full-word asterisks
- Silences 2,704 English voice clips while preserving timing and lip-sync
- Clothes nude characters using the game's own garments and covered textures
- Replaces selected graphic wounds and corpses with in-game censored assets (~650 MB optional folder)
Requirements: Requires ownership of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt; the profanity tool applies edits to your installed copy and the optional ~650 MB censored asset folder installs alongside the game.
This optional, reversible filter for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt censors on-screen and spoken profanity, outfits or covers nude characters, and replaces certain gory or explicit visuals with censored in-game alternatives. Only flagged words and explicit visuals are altered; the story, quests, and performances remain as originally created. This is not a full content edit: the game remains rated Mature and still contains intense combat, dark themes, substance use, and other adult material. Coverage is substantial but not perfect — some profane words or stray nudity/gore may still appear.
The profanity component does not include game files: a small app recreates the text and audio edits on your own installed copy. The nudity and gore component includes pre-built censored copies of some of the game's art (about 650 MB) installed as an optional mod folder. The work targets streamers, players in mixed company, or anyone who prefers reduced explicit content without changing gameplay.
Included specifics: 2,438 on-screen and subtitle entries with profane words replaced by full-word asterisks, 2,704 English voice clips with profane words silenced while retaining line length and lip-sync, nude characters clothed or robed using the game's own garments and covered textures/meshes, and some graphic wounds and corpses swapped for the game's censored versions. Profanity categories addressed include the F-word, S-word, B-word, A-word, D-word, and certain religious terms.
