Permadeath AE — True Permadeath and Character Obituaries for Fallout 4 (F4SE)
Adds true permadeath to Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition, creating detailed obituary files and optional save backups whenever your character dies.
- Adds true permadeath to Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition
- Generates an Obituary.txt with detailed character info on death
- Creates a per-character folder in the Permadeath directory (MO2 users: Overwrite)
- Optional automatic save backups located next to the obituary, configurable via PermadeathAE.toml
Requirements: Requires Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition and the Fallout 4 Script Extender (F4SE).
Permadeath AE brings permanent death to Fallout 4 (Anniversary Edition) and produces a detailed obituary each time your character dies. When a death occurs the mod creates a folder named with the player’s name and internal ID inside the Permadeath directory (MO2 users will find this in their Overwrite folder). That folder contains an Obituary.txt file recording extensive information about the character at the moment of death. By default the mod also backs up the character’s save files next to the Obituary.txt; this backup behavior can be disabled or adjusted in the configuration file. Consult the PermadeathAE.toml configuration file to customize settings and toggles; one example setting is bFilthyCasualMode = true, which enables automatic save backups before deletion.
