The Infinite and the Divine is getting an unexpected sequel
Robert Rath's beloved Necron novel The Infinite and the Divine, a self-contained story, is returning with a follow-up — and the author is back to write it.
Games Workshop has slowly expanded 40K fiction beyond human viewpoints to explore aliens. If you like orks, there's Ghazghkull Thraka: Prophet of the Waaagh; for aeldari swashbuckling, Voidscarred; but the high point for many remains Robert Rath's The Infinite and the Divine. It follows two Necrons, Orikan the Diviner and Trazyn the Infinite, immortal minds gone a little mad in the upload from flesh, whose dispute over an artifact escalates into a universe-spanning feud (not in a romance way). Games Workshop described the novel as “clashing with Exodite armies, xenos uprisings, and a spell in Necron small claims court.” Now, Warhammer Community has announced a sequel, The Wicked and the Warped, in which Orikan and Trazyn must work together to discover what happened to an expedition lost on a planet corrupted by Chaos.
