Dave the Diver: In the Jungle review
Like Bancho's cooking, this new DLC is delicious—an unexpectedly large, activity-packed addition that keeps you playing long after a weekend.
What is it? DLC for Dave the Diver where you open a new restaurant. Price: $10/£8.49. Developer/Publisher: Mintrocket. Reviewed on Intel i7 9700K, RTX 4070 Ti, 16GB RAM. Multiplayer: No. Steam Deck: Verified. VR: No.
In the Jungle drops Dave into a remote village for more spearfishing and restaurant management, but with quests, villagers to befriend and a surprisingly wide range of new activities. I’ve sunk more than 25 hours into the content pack and I’m not done: I’ve fought a half-dozen new bosses, hunted birds with a rifle, become an expert beetle manager, survived a car chase, watched a friend get swallowed and regurgitated by an enormous frog—and finally gone fishing with a rod and reel.
The premise sends Dave, at Dr. Bacon’s request, to investigate a dead dinosaur washed up beside a lake, with Bancho the sushi chef along for the trip. Packed with quirky characters and varied gameplay, In the Jungle almost feels like a standalone game.
