18-year-old King's Bounty: The Legend gets quality-of-life update, achievements and Steam Workshop
The 18-year-old strategy-RPG has been refreshed for modern PCs with widescreen support, UI tweaks and new Steam features — perfect if you want to return to its oddball marriage options.
Long before Heroes of Might & Magic returned with Olden Era, there was King's Bounty: The Legend — a strategy-RPG in the classic HoMM mold with a single giant world map and weird courtship options (yes, you could marry a frog or a zombie). The 18-year-old title has now been updated for modern PCs: it supports widescreen (no more side black bars), doubles the maximum zoom-out distance and received a UI readability pass. It also adds Steam achievements, trading cards and a points shop, plus a dedicated Steam Workshop. Currently the only Workshop mod restores the original fonts and reverses one readability change. Katauri plans to roll these updates out to King's Bounty: Armored Princess next. Both King's Bounty: The Legend and King's Bounty: Crossworlds are currently 85% off on Steam.
