Star Wars Zero Company is a $50 bargain in an $80-game era
Star Wars Zero Company will launch at $50, a throwback to older pricing. Its mix of XCOM-style tactics and high production values makes that price feel like a steal compared with rising AAA costs.
During the 2026 Summer Game Fest reveal for Star Wars Zero Company, Firaxis veterans Bit Reactor also confirmed the game's price: $50. That's the same launch price Firaxis charged for XCOM: Enemy Unknown in 2012 and under XCOM 2's $60 debut a decade ago. I played Zero Company earlier this year and it ranked among my most anticipated titles — it pairs crunchy permadeath squad tactics with lavish production values, cinematic cutscenes and a large voice cast. One neat mechanical shift: exploration is presented up-close in a third-person view that seamlessly switches to the overhead god view for combat. Bit Reactor could easily have asked $60 or even $70; rival Star Wars title Galactic Racer is targeting $60. Seeing EA and Bit Reactor set a reasonable $50 sticker — especially while some publishers push $80 or more for big franchises — is refreshingly consumer-friendly.
