Dragon Age: Origins runs great on Steam Deck despite 'Unsupported' badge — currently $3
After a bit of setup, BioWare's classic plays very well on Steam Deck. The Ultimate Edition is on sale for $3 during the Steam Summer sale.
I wanted to revisit Dragon Age: Origins on PC after playing the PS3 version in 2009, which lacks the PC game's tactical view and mod support. I finally bought the Ultimate Edition during the Steam Summer sale for $3; it includes Awakening and additional extras (there’s no Standard Edition on Steam). The Steam Deck flags Origins as 'Unsupported,' and the game's old 4:3 launcher initially forced an 800×600 display with no way to save settings. However, the in-game options let you switch to the Deck’s native 1280×800 and raise graphics and texture detail to 'Very High.' At those settings I get a steady 60 fps (90 fps is possible but less consistent). One remaining drawback is that the PC release lacks the built-in gamepad support found on console versions.
