Baldur's Gate 2 co-lead says "I would fail, and here's why" after turning down Hasbro's offer to make Baldur's Gate 4
After Larian declined the chance to develop a sequel, Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast looked elsewhere and approached some people who worked on Baldur's Gate 2. One former BG2 co-lead turned the offer down, saying he would fail and explaining why.
When Larian passed on the opportunity to make a direct sequel, Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast began searching for other developers to handle Baldur's Gate 4. That search led them to collaborators who had been involved with Baldur's Gate 2, but one of the original game's co-leads declined the request. He reportedly said, “I would fail, and here’s why,” and turned down the chance to take the project on.
