A couple of weeks after its early access launch, Sand: Raiders of Sophie is doing well despite a rocky update. An update that rolled out on July 2 caused connection problems and was rolled back; developers investigated and redeployed the fix later in the week. Alex Nichiporchik, CEO of publisher TinyBuild, wrote on X: "300K copies for Sand sold," and added, "We getting [a] half hour of air conditioning tonight!" The re-release of the update—and the weekend—helped push Sand to its highest concurrent Steam peak at just over 40,000 players, placing it mid‑rank in Steam's top 100 between Farming Simulator 25 and Helldivers 2. At $20 with its launch discount, those sales represent a healthy return. Patch notes note a fix for servers becoming unavailable that had left players stuck during connection attempts.
