Epic reaches settlement with contractor accused of being Fortnite leaker
Epic Games has proposed a settlement with a former contractor it accused of operating as notorious Fortnite leaker AdiraFN, including a permanent injunction against sharing its confidential information.
Epic Games has reached a proposed settlement with a former contractor it accused in March of being the notorious Fortnite leaker AdiraFN. Under the agreement the defendant would be permanently barred from possessing, accessing, using, or disclosing any of Epic’s confidential or trade secret information, or helping others do so. Epic’s March filing identified the leaker as former Fortnite contractor Hayden Cohen, who had signed an NDA but allegedly ‘‘repeatedly misappropriated Epic’s trade secret information and broadcasted it publicly’’ via anonymous accounts on X and Discord. Epic confirmed the proposed settlement to PC Gamer; Natalie Munoz, Epic’s director of corporate communications, said the company asked the court to approve the stipulated injunction to prevent further publication or sharing of confidential information. The proposed settlement mentions only the injunction and does not refer to any monetary penalty, though Epic’s initial complaint sought compensatory damages and legal fees.
