Man the Gate and Keep Out People, Chickens and Unknown Horrors in Dreadwoods Gatekeeper
Most Papers, Please-like games tend to be 2D and stick close to their inspiration. Dreadwoods Gatekeeper instead puts you solo at an old-timey outpost, watching for travellers, chickens, foul creatures and, apparently, monsters.
Most Papers, Please-like games I’ve seen are 2D—probably because it’s easier to make and derivative works rarely stray far from their source. Dreadwoods Gatekeeper bucks that trend. It’s an old-timey gatekeeping sim that places you alone at a remote outpost, tasked with keeping people, chickens and other unwelcome visitors out. Travellers and foul creatures turn up, and there also appear to be unknown horrors among them.
