Less than a month before launch, Outward 2 delayed to 2027
Survival RPG Outward 2 has been pushed from July 2026 into 2027. Nine Dots CEO Guillaume Boucher-Vidal wrote, "I apologize that we couldn’t give you the game you guys deserve on time."
Developer Nine Dots Studio announced on Steam that Outward 2’s planned July 2026 release has been delayed into 2027. There’s no specific new date yet—the Steam release field currently reads only "2027." CEO and Outward 2 creative director Guillaume Boucher-Vidal apologized to players and said the studio chose to listen to beta feedback rather than ship a product that might not meet expectations. The game has been in open beta since June 7 and recently had a trailer promising a summer release; Boucher-Vidal said sticking to the original schedule would risk disappointing fans. He added the team must assess whether the game would be stable and ready to charge for in a matter of weeks, and concluded more development time is needed. No details were given on which player comments prompted the delay.
