I launched 45 Steam Next Fest idle demos at once to find a desktop companion
Steam Next Fest is overflowing with demos, so I downloaded 45 idle-game demos, opened them across a second screen, and weeded out the ones that didn't grab me to build a wishlist of desktop idlers.
Steam Next Fest is back and bigger than ever, and sifting through thousands of demos for a second-screen idler feels impossible. The showcase is closer to the world's busiest Costco than a curated selection—nearly 500 idlers and filters that barely help. I didn't have time to read pages or play everything, so I did the obvious thing: downloaded 45 demos and flooded my second screen, then closed any that didn't entertain me within a few seconds. It took a couple of rounds, but the method worked: I ended up with a short list of desktop idle games to wishlist. The experience was a chaotic mix of lo-fi beats, cats meowing and farm noises, and my PC wasn't thrilled having so many games chirping at once.
