Steam's new Personal Calendar actually makes discovery feel manageable
Steam added a Personal Calendar that surfaces upcoming releases tailored to your tastes. It’s a simple, visual way to find new games without drowning in the storefront.
Steam has quietly added a Personal Calendar to the homepage that might finally tame the flood of new releases. The small module shows a couple of upcoming releases for each of the next five days that Steam thinks you’ll like, based on your wishlist and the tags you play. The calendar rolled out earlier this month in a Steam blog post, though the announcement undersells what it does. The full Personal Calendar page lists games released in the past month (including recent weeklies) and a forward-looking two-month calendar that previews a few games per day (up to six on mine). You can filter by tag (for example “farming sim” or “city builder”) and adjust options like games per page and whether to show wishlist items. After years of algorithmic overload, this visual, focused approach feels refreshingly useful.
