Meccha Chameleon’s two-month dev cycle suggests roughly $1M earned per day
That's, uh, a lotta money.
Meccha Chameleon has sold more than 10 million copies in the three weeks since its June 9 launch. Its two-person team told GameWith the game was developed in just two months. At $5.99 a copy, 10 million sales imply roughly $60 million in gross revenue before Steam’s cut and taxes—an amount that, spread across a two-month development period, works out to about $1 million per day of work. The first-week discount to $4.79 and lower regional prices reduce the total somewhat, and platform fees and taxes will further cut actual take-home pay. The developers also said they spent no money on promotion, so up-front costs were effectively zero.
