Total War: Warhammer 3 adds End Times endgames, teases Vampire Counts rework and Nurgle champions
Creative Assembly's What's Next livestream revealed new End Times-style endgames for Immortal Empires, plus a Vampire Counts rework and three new Nurgle champions. One End Times finale can even turn a lord into an almost-undefeatable crisis.
Creative Assembly’s What’s Next livestream outlined several major additions for Total War: Warhammer 3, tied to the upcoming 9.0 update and the Lords of the End Times DLC. The long-promised siege rework will arrive in patch 9.1 and wasn’t covered, Neferata is still in development, and patch 8.1 is due next week. The stream revealed new End Times-themed endgames: previous endgame crises “do not satisfy what we wanted them to do,” says associate design director Sean Macdonald, so many crises are being moved to the midgame to buff factions while dramatic End Times events serve as campaign finales. Three finales are planned: a reworked Vermintide, one centred on Nagash (appearing in the Lords of the End Times DLC), and one focused on Archaon — who gains a huge ward save that makes him nearly undefeatable until his lieutenants are removed. The livestream also teased a Vampire Counts rework and three new Nurgle champions.
