Quantic Dream: Star Wars Eclipse development "continuing as planned"
Quantic Dream denies reports from striking staff that planned layoffs after the closure of Spellcaster Chronicles will jeopardize Star Wars Eclipse.
Quantic Dream has rejected claims that its in-development RPG Star Wars Eclipse is in trouble after employees staged a strike outside the studio's Paris HQ. The protest followed the shutdown of online game Spellcaster Chronicles and reports of planned layoffs. Some striking staff told GameKult they were trying to "save Star Wars Eclipse," arguing the project would not be completable without the roughly 115 people said to be facing cuts. In a statement to IGN, Quantic Dream said development is "unaffected by the recent closure of Spellcasters Chronicles"—a decision it attributed to challenging market conditions—and that Star Wars Eclipse is "continuing as planned, with the full commitment of its team and all the necessary resources to complete its mission."
