Marvel Tōkon PC blocked in 132 countries that lack PSN access
Sony has region-restricted the Steam release of Marvel Tōkon in 132 countries without PSN, repeating the company’s earlier PC-region issues despite past backlash.
Sony again appears to be restricting PC access in countries where PlayStation Network isn’t available. After adding a PSN account requirement to Helldivers 2 post-launch and region-limiting several PC ports (including God of War Ragnarok, Spider-Man 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered) — a move that was later reversed after public outcry — the upcoming tag fighter Marvel Tōkon is currently region-restricted on Steam in 132 PSN-less countries. Until Dawn remains restricted as well. The blocked list includes places where the fighting-game scene is strong, such as Pakistan, plus the Dominican Republic, Morocco, Egypt, Fiji, Jamaica, Monaco and Vatican City. Sony has recently faced other PR controversies — from its retreat from physical sales to a U-turn on bringing single-player games to PC and a renewed push into AI, which it says can “unleash the creativity of studios and further enhance the PlayStation experience.” Marvel Tōkon will run an open PC and PS5 beta from July 24 to July 26 that will let players try Blade, who was recently revealed.
