Where Dolls Hang lets you watch Night of the Living Dead inside a haunted-doll survival horror game
Where Dolls Hang is a survival horror game inspired by Isla de las Muñecas that has you investigating missing-person cases in a cursed location — and you can watch public-domain horror films in your safehouse.
Inspired by Isla de las Muñecas, the Mexican island with the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of haunted dolls, Where Dolls Hang casts you as a detective searching for people who vanished in a cursed area. According to developer Steelkrill Studio, players investigate missing-person cases by examining bodies, collecting clues, placing evidence markers and documenting crime scenes with an in-game camera, all while surviving dangers in the woods. Clues sometimes arrive on VHS tapes you can bring back to your safehouse to watch — and there you can also play public-domain horror films such as Night of the Living Dead. That film entered the public domain after a copyright notice was omitted when its title was changed before release. Other public-domain candidates that might appear include Manos: The Hand of Fate, Plan 9 From Outer Space, The Screaming Skull, Maniac, The Brain That Wouldn't Die, Roger Corman’s Little Shop of Horrors and The Wasp Woman, and possibly White Zombie.
