Danganronpa 2x2 delayed to early 2027, adds 'slayhem' alternate story and 3D map
Danganronpa 2x2, the remaster of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, has been pushed from 2026 to early 2027. It will include a new 'slayhem' alternate scenario with about 20% more content and a 3D world map.
Spike Chunsoft's remaster Danganronpa 2x2, announced last year, has been delayed from 2026 to early 2027. The re-release adds a fully new alternate storyline called "slayhem" mode — described as "a new scenario based on Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, but completely different" in which "a certain incident triggers a dramatically different chain of events with different victims, culprits, and tricks." The mode offers "approximately 20% more content than Original mode" and is "unlocked from the start."
Other updates include new character portraits for the cast and the replacement of the sidescrolling world map with a 3D map that supports optional fast travel. Spike Chunsoft has not announced any changes to the soundtrack.
